Hi, I’m Gretchen Williams.
I’d love to guide your forest bathing and nature connection journey.
As a certified guide with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy, I’m dedicated to supporting reconnection to nature—both outside and within ourselves.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve felt most myself when I’m in wild spaces—whether climbing trees as a kid in southern Virginia or exploring new trails near my current home in western Massachusetts. It’s a privilege to now guide others in experiencing authentic connection with the natural world through an evidence-based framework. I bring deep respect for the land, its past and present stewards, and all its inhabitants—big and small—to this practice.
When I’m not wandering among the trees, I work as a writer and researcher in public health. I hold a Master of Science degree in Global Health and Population from Harvard University. I’m a writer of poetry and prose, a friend to animals, and an admirer of wildflowers.

My Approach & Values
Accessible. Adaptable. Authentic.
Reconnect with nature. Rediscover yourself.
Modern life often prevents us from taking time to slow down, breathe deeply, and notice the world around us.
As your guide, I work in partnership with the land and its inhabitants to create opportunities for authentic connection and sensory exploration. This is not only a great way to relax and connect with yourself and others in a supportive atmosphere, but it’s usually pretty fun, too!
For those interested in private walks or sessions integrating creative expression, I’d love to work with you to craft your experience.
Nature is for everyone. Just as you are.
One of the most remarkable aspects of joining a forest bathing walk is that you can (and should!) show up just as you are—there’s nothing to do to prepare and there’s no way to do anything wrong.
I’ll be there to welcome and guide you through every step of the journey—offering all activities by invitation, not instruction. Together, we’ll cultivate compassion and reciprocity for ourselves, each other, and the natural world around us.
